加拿大保守黨選舉支持比特幣的領袖 Pierre Poilievre 為黨魁
Pierre Poilievre 以壓倒性優勢贏得了領導力競賽，併計劃使加拿大成為“世界區塊鏈之都”。

加拿大保守黨（CPC）10日選舉，支持比特幣的安大略省議會議員 Pierre Poilievre 為該黨的黨魁，而且囊括超過 68% 的保守派選票，遠遠領先於他的競爭對手、前魁北克省長 Jean Charest，後者僅獲得 16% 的選票。Poilievre 說：「我想讓加拿大成為世界區塊鏈之都。」

Poilievre 一直是比特幣的支持者，他也從不諱言自己的立場，也曾經用比特幣購買沙威瑪。根據他自己的披露，他至少擁有 10,000 美元的加拿大比特幣單位。

「政府正在破壞加元，因此加拿大人應該有使用其他貨幣的自由，例如比特幣。」Poilievre 說。

Pierre Poilievre 並不是法定貨幣的忠實擁護者，他抨擊加拿大銀行未能緩和失控的通膨，因此，他承諾，若他擔任總理，他將解僱央行總裁，審計銀行活動，並停止開發央行數位貨幣（CBDC）。

「作為總理，我會放棄這一點（CDBC），讓審計長來審計他們 4000 億美元的印鈔慘案。」Poilievre 4月底曾在推特上這樣寫。
